Which Comment Systems Better?

Dear readers,

Lately I’m playing with the blog commenting system but not aware that I’ve changed the setting. Before I thought of correcting my mistake, I found a number of quality comments where my readers responded to the question with their personal sharing. I am really happy and excited with comments I received lately from you!

I am serious!!! =D

It’s been a year I’ve not received much comments and I thought you don’t love me anymore… *sob*

However, from this incident, I realize I might be wrong (please prove me wrong and tell me you still love me) *desperate mode*

I remembered that there were several times I received complain from my friends that they couldn’t comment because the system failed to post their writing. After several attempts, they gave up and chose to sms or send me message in FB instead.

I don’t know if this happen to you too? I really wish to know so that I have an idea on how to handle this matter. So here is the question. Which comment system below is better?

1. Disqus

2. Blogger

Here is a poll to on these 2 systems and I really hope to hear from you. Please help me to figure out which one I should use in the coming blog posts. I am really undecided at the moment.

I can’t deny that each of your response mean a heaven to me although people keep on saying, “blog for yourself and not for others”. Well, yes and no for certain extend. For me, blog works both sides and the experience is more meaningful when there is ‘give and take’ situation.

Looking forward to hear from you soon. Thank you dears~

P/s: Coming post on Cheers 2 Art. Stay tune.

Why Longer Than Ever?

If you are wondering why my blog post update lately takes longer time than ever, here is a good explanation on my current situation. I hope you are not getting too frustrated in losing your daily dose of eggs. I have tried my best =((

First of all, my pink-disk (hardisk) is facing a terrible issue. It failed to function and all my softcopies including photos, videos and academic documents are at risk. I don’t know if the hardisk can still be saved. It’s my half birthday present. Why half? It’s because I paid half and sponsored half by my secondary school friend who are running this business. Lol.. sound complicated.

At the same time, I can’t stuff in any more pictures into my laptop’s hardisk because it’s almost FULLED! And, I have no empty thumb drive to transfer my photos to another computer, so my other alternative is to upload photos from my computer directly into my netbook and blog from there.

blog

So, I am facing a harder time to edit photos on a much, smaller screen. Don’t worry, I have found new solution *wink* =))

Secondly, I am in the midst of re-organizing, re-considering and deciding my career path. The best metaphor to describe my current situation is, I am standing in between of two roads, a T-junction and thinking which road to take. It’s a tough decision because once decided, there is no U-turn or roundabout for me. In other words, there is ‘no turning back’ as some opportunities just come once.

So, naturally it is important to do full homework and take a good moment to work with my brain and listen to my heart. Besides, I have my significant others to join me as their personal opinions, advices and supports mean a lot to me.

Hence, lot of brain work is needed.

Last but not least, there are so much to write about Perth, Australia with hundreds of photos I have. I am trying my best to write out as much quality posts as I can before my working days are ruling my life. I don’t know how soon it will be, but I will make sure it will be soon. I can’t stand to be a ‘grape’ for too long. =_=!!

I need to make contribution and earn some bucks to accomplish my dreams.

So, wait for me folks. You will hear from me again, very soon =)

In the mean time, stay updated with curryegg by liking her personal facebook page. Thank you! www.facebook.com/eggieworld

Hi eggie’s readers. I am back again. This time, I will make a quick post on my mini project which I am currently enthused about.

I have created a Facebook page few months ago and it’s officially functioned since June 2011. Although the number of ‘likes’ are still small, it’s ok because what I am focusing on is the content of the page. I want to make it a place to share about my blog update, quick personal sharing (like status update, video clip, competition & etc), inspiring quote and most importantly, my ‘Photo of The Day’.

Besides, I wish to be more responsive and interactive with curryegg’s blog readers by using Facebook page function. You must have realized I don’t have cbox like before. Too many annoying SPAMs.. =.=!!

Talking about ‘Photo of The Day’, it is my mini project which I have been running since last July (2010) and it is nearing 1 year now. I am limiting my facebook account into a more personal corner, meaning that I only add people whom I know personally. So, not many will be able to enjoy the work which I’ve done, unless I share them in my blog.

Thinking of the limitedness which I am facing currently, I’ve decided to use Facebook page to allow me to connect with my readers who enjoy my work – starting from my writing, personal thoughts, photography and simply ME as a person =)

Here are some of the creation which I have done in my ‘Photo of The Day’ album.

Well, here are just part of the photos from the album. One of the interesting parts is, all photos are taken by me. Most of the quotes are chosen and attached based on my experiences, interpretation or personal thoughts. Which means, all photos created are unique! Do expect for more in the coming days as I am sure that I will always have things to share.

If you like what you see or simply wanna support my hardwork, do visit and like my EggieWorld’s page. Better still, share it around. Oh.. Have I forgotten to tell you this? I have just named my Facebook page as

facebook.com/eggieworld

So, do like my page and be part of the family. Can’t wait to see you there =))

P/s: I’m sorry for not updating my blog that often. I’ve received quite some complains from my loyal readers. Just to give some interesting hints, that I have scheduled some interesting posts for next coming week. Why next week? Well, you will know soon. Stay tune :)

Comment With Facebook/Twitter Account

Huurrroooooooyyy!!!!!

Right now, you can use your Facebook or Twitter account to leave your comment in Curryegg's comment box. Yes. That's right. Isn't this interesting? There shouldn't be a hassle in leaving your comment starting by now because you don't have to type in name, email and blogURL. Instead, you just have to sign in to your Facebook or Twitter account by clicking the Facebook or Twitter icon. You will see these icons just above the comment box.

P/s: Thanks to Jacq for suggesting Disqus comment system for my blog. I hope it will help me in managing my comments properly.. *pray*

If you are not sure on how to leave your comment using your Facebook or Twitter account, don't worry. I will help you in this by providing you some guidelines. In fact, you don't need these guidelines because it is really simple.

*wink*

1) How To Leave Comment Under Your Facebook Account

Firstly, click on the comment box which is located at the bottom of the post. Then scroll down the page and you will come across with Disqus comment box. Just above the blank comment box, you will notice the icon "F connect" which means connecting to Facebook.

Click on it and you will be directed to a Facebook log in box. Just enter your log in detail including email and password. This is how Disqus comment system connects to your Facebook account.

Once you have successfully logging in, your name and display picture based on your Facebook account will appear.

What else? You can start typing your comment or your love words into the box. Click on the post comment button and ta-da.....

Your comment will appear. Cool isn't it? Since almost everyone is owning a Facebook account, I believe this comment system will come in handy. In fact, funkier! So my dear Facebook friends, you have no excuses for not leaving me comment this time.. Mamak, Asha, ShuHuan, Mac, SzeL, Kevin and Eric can you hear me? hehe.. ;)

2) How To Leave Comment Under Your Twitter Account

Well, the procedure is similar to the former one. Just search and click on the Twitter icon. You will be directed to twitter log in box. Just key in your name and password.

Once the system is ready, your twitter account will connect to my comment box. Your Twitter display picture and name will appear.

So, you can start typing your comment. Wait, before you hit on the 'post comment' icon, you will notice a small box on the right, stating 'Twitt this comment as yourname'. If you want the comment appear in your Twitter homepage, just tick on it. Or else, just leave it.

At the end, the comment will be save in my comment box and it will appear like this:

So, izzit FUN or WHAT?

Non-blogger readers can now leave their thoughts or love notes for me with their preferable Avatar (photo or icon of yours). No more ugly-boring-dull avatar which appear beside your comment. Besides, I can connect to their Facebook profile or Twitter account for easily - so that I know who you are. Hehe..

I hope Disqus will work well for my blog. I don't wanna test another new comment system after this, pray.. For your information, I have just shifted from Intense Debate to Disqus. Not using Google comment if Disqus manage to win my heart.

So, let start throwing eggs into my comment box. I have been longing for yours..

;)
