Trading Silence for Money: The Upcoming Death of Your Twitter Feed
Kim Kardashian will die on the first of next month! Yes, you read correct. The breathtaking beauty who stops hearts with her astounding looks and infectious reality show will soon cease to exist; that is, unless she can raise enough money and awareness in the name of HIV/AIDS.
And by “die” we don’t mean literally (duh!), but in a more virtual sense. On December 1, 2010 celebs from all over the social media map will go silent on their feeds to mark AIDS day, and will remain so until the public raises $1 million for the charity Keep a Child Alive. In laymen’s terms, “the rich and famous want you to ‘buy’ their lives back.” Well, what’s new?
Aside from Kim, what other celebrities are on the virtual “hit list?” Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Seacrest, Usher, Willow and Jaden Smith, Serena Williams, Katie Holmes, and Elijah Wood will all soon meet their virtual maker, so to speak.
Alicia Keys is the mastermind for such a worldly cause. An avid supporter of the Keep a Child Alive charity, Keys hopes to raise funds for medication and patient care services to children and families in Africa and India who are directly affected by HIV/AIDS.
So folks, on Wednesday grab your smartphones and donate $10 by texting BUYLIFE to 90999. Your donation will not only help mend the future for a child and his or her family, it will bring normalcy back to your Facebook and Twitter feeds. Have YOU helped save the world today?

Be Part of ChurpChurp Today
Notes: I am blogging from my personal experience with churpchurp. So, let the words guide you into my point of view.
If you are one of my Twitter followers at http://twitter.com/curryegg , you will know how much I love ChurpChurp.
Wait! Why are you giving me the puzzle look? o_O
Don’t tell me, don’t tell me you have never seen this big eye, little blue bird? Its name is ChurpChurp. In my case, I called him (I assume the bird is a he) ‘Money Bird’. Why Money Bird you ask?
Ever since I’ve signed up with ChurpChurp, this little blue bird has become my best company whenever I am online. He has never failed to bring first hand information to me like promotion from Airasia, up-coming event from Heineken, new product from Friso and special offer from Celcom.
All these information have allowed me to be in the VIP lane and grab things faster than others because the news I received are days (or weeks) earlier. Take AirAsia for example. Before AirAsia release the Fabulous Fly-Day promotion at Airasia.com, I receive the news 2 days earlier before others and what happen next is, I managed to snatched tickets to Australia for next year at CHEAP PRICE!
Of course, the VIP lane isn’t my main focus for this post because what is more interesting is that this birdy bring MONEY. Yes, MONEY!!!
He has been bringing money-making opportunity to me ever since I’ve signed up with ChurpChurp and I am thrilled! Although, it’s not a big sum of money at least, I am making something online. A student like me with no income (relying fully on parents) find every opportunity available in the market to make some pocket money and ChurpChurp is a good channel. It’s a friendly user generated website, safe, established, easy to learn and earn.
How I know? Because I am using and earning of course.
This is the proof:
And believe it or not, I have cashed out once and will soon cash out my second cheque. Weeeeeeeeeee!
Also, I am glad that ChurpChurp take good care of my friend who have signed up last month when I introduced this to her. She has been receiving assignments consistently every week and even received free premium movie passes too.
Aren’t all these good reasons to be part of ChurpChurp?
By now, I will publish this post and email this link to all my close friends, family members, relatives and boyfriend to immediately sign up for churpchurp. They don’t know how much they have missed out!
And for you, here…
To churp or not to churp, your choice.
P/s: I personally love the idea of spreading, learning and attending charity event like ‘Get On Board To Stop Child Abuse’. Would love to see more event like this in future.
Lean Money: A Greener Way to Live
Think about everything you do in a day. Wake up, head to Starbucks for the season’s newest latte trend, stop by the gas station to fill up your SUV, head to the supermarket to pick up some groceries for dinner, then head back home to do it all over again. Now, imagine doing this all on a miserly budget of $1.37! Impossible you say! We think not! According to Ales Cerin, “nickel and dime-ing” has become a better and greener way of life.
The Slovenian father of four has been living on 1.01 Euros per day for a little over two months now. What makes his consumerism martyrdom so astonishing is that he is hoping to raise awareness about global poverty in the developing world and Western over-indulgence.
How does he do it you ask? Cerin starts and ends his day in his elaborate garden where he grows apples, leeks, chicory, beans, salads, and peppers among other fruits and vegetables. Where his garden falls short he simply meanders to the next door farm where he purchases milk and forages through the nearby forrest for chestnuts.
While most of us in the western world don't have access (or time) to an ornate garden, we can certainly admire the motivation behind Ales Cerin’s notable undertaking. Think about this for a moment: While we are constantly counting calories and investing in trendy diets, why not donate the extra calories we’re extracting from our plates to those who inherently need them? How’s that for some food for thought? Have YOU helped save the world today?

The Real Xplay Shout! Awards, Bukit Jalil
Frankly, I am disappointed with myself for not being able to attend Xplay Shout! Awards last Saturday (20 November 2010) at Bukit Jalil. I have missed out the most happening event in town and I still can’t forgive myself.
I was being invited with a pair free VIP passes to the event one week earlier (when I was at Shout Party at The Library) and I was so excited with the idea of witnessing our local artists performing on stage and receiving awards. It is almost like the MTV Awards style, just this is cooler because it is firstly organized by Xpax for our local artists and it involves various media partners which include 8TV, FlyFM, Red FM and Suria FM.
My heart really sank in while browsing all the photos and interview in Shout Awards’ website (
Link). All those happy faces, highly fashion artist, happening performances and the crowds contributed more to my disappointment. Why I fall sick on that day? Dear oh body? =_=
June (my coursemate) and I have been wanting to watch Miz Nina’s performances because we heard she is a great singer who can give breath-taking performances with her hot body. Look at the pictures!
Yuna
And I really wish to see the real Yuna. I have just learned about her not long ago and fall in love instantly to her voice and self-composed songs. I love a singer who doesn’t just own a powerful vocal but who are also creative in making own song and perform in own style. Two words, genuine and uniqueness.
Well, I can’t do anything when my biological condition wasn’t properly functioned. I believe it is due to my consistency in producing stress when the exam and deadlines of assignments are just a stone throw. What to do? =((
I can see that Shout! Awards 2010 is a success and I believe there will be another one very soon. So, I am not going to miss the next one in future. Not anymore… please..
A Man on a [Solar] Mission
Haidar Taleb, a disabled UAE native, has recently begun his two hundred mile journey across the desert of the United Arab Emirates on wheels. And not just any wheels: a solar-powered wheelchair he designed and built with his own two hands.
The reason influencing such a heroic journey? Taleb hopes to raise awareness of disability and sustainability, and to encourage other people with disabilities to continue their progress in achieving their dreams as individuals.
Occurring over the next eleven days, Haidar Taleb’s momentous journey will span across all seven emirates, eventually concluding in the capital of Abu Dhabi, December 2, 2010.
Developed in collaboration with Masdar (a renewable energy company in Abu Dhabi), Haidar’s wheelchair will hum down the roadways peaking at a hair-blowing twelve miles per hour. Being that there is no shortage of sun in the desert, one would not bet against the chair or it’s driver making it through such an arduous journey.
While setting out to not only send a message to the disabled and to add his name to history books, Haidar Taleb is demonstrating how to extract positivity out of every situation by taking matters into his own hands....or wheels. Have YOU helped save the world today?

Teaching Our Children Not To Take Candy From Strangers or Enjoy Rides From Elevators
First Lady Michelle Obama is taking her point of raising awareness for childhood obesity home.
On a stop in Newark, New Jersey, Obama played and raced with the kids from Maple Avenue School in hopes of gaining enthusiasm from our nation’s youth towards defeated this childhood epidemic.
The main point our First Lady is hoping to get across is that anyone and everyone has a role in combating obesity, no matter their background, race, or age.

Since their move into the White House over two years ago, the First Family has sworn off the elevator at their home in the White House. Modern medium versatile hairstyles for women 2011
Medium length hairstyles are great for layering because of their versatility. Layering medium hair length correctly by framing the facial area often brings out a person's eyes, lips, and other facial features in a non-obtrusive manner.A medium length cut can be worn curly, wavy or straight. For gorgeous curls, use a curl enhancing spray or mousse on damp hair and blow dry with a diffuser. To define particular strands, curl with a 1/2 inch curling iron or set on small hot rollers. There are so many ways to layer medium length modern hairstyles because it is long enough to go short in different areas and short enough to keep in others. The simple flow down medium hairstyle is popular because it is very simple. Just letting your hair flow down with either bangs down or parted with additional waves, ringlets, or curls at the ends. One classic medium length cut is the bob. A bob is a haircut that's all one length and ranges from chin length to shoulder length. Bobs can be curly or straight depending on your hair texture, and look fantastic either way. They're versatile as well, and can easily be upswept for an evening look or left hanging freely for a cute, feminine look. Another great medium length cut is the shag. A shag cut involves cutting layers of various lengths into hair.
A Safer Way To Double Your Assets
Let’s be honest. We live in a world where reality blends voraciously with superficiality. People are constantly seeking ways to not only appear but feel younger and many will go to any length in order to achieve the promise from the fountain of youth. But what about those patients who are plagued with cancer? Those who in a plastic world, can only hold on to remnants of their past when they not only had a youthful body, but a healthy one. Have no fear, Dr. Chris Calhoun is here!
The forty-four year old San Diego native, CEO of Cytori Therapeutics, has come up with an unconventional method of tissue engineering. This discovery could well be one of the most momentous medical advances of the 21st century: the use of stem cells. And not just any stem cells-specifically stem cell enriched adipose (fat) tissues which will be used to enhance, heal, and eventually rebuild damaged organs.
The first industry Calhoun plans to conquer is a popular one: female breast augmentation. Now, women with breasts mutilated by surgery-in addition to those simply unhappy with their natural assets-can grow a new and improved pair, with raw materials harvested from their own body fat!
But breast augmentation is simply one development in the company’s widely ambitious plan: to introduce stem cell medicine to the mass market-and NOT using the ethically fraught kind of cells extracted from human embryos. This translates into panaceas for those threatened by chronic heart disease, heart attacks, kidney damage, etc. We hope Calhoun and his inventive team succeed, because in doing so they won’t just be creating more cleavage! Will the Real “Spiderman” Please Stand Up?
Gone are the days of archaic telethons to raise money for a philanthropic cause. No, today people are going to great lengths to earn a buck in the name of their favorite charities!
One brave fellow in particular, Nick Le Souef is literally putting his life on the line in hopes of raising $50,000 for Variety, a children’s charity. So what could possibly be so mind-boggling insane that could raise this exorbitant amount in such a short period of time?
For a three-week period, the sixty-seven year old Aussie plans to live in a shop window along with some pretty scary roommates: hundreds of poisonous and deadly spiders. Four hundred deadly, eight-legged, creepy, crawly, venomous spiders to be exact.
And if the spiders weren’t enough, Le Souef will also be sharing his 12-foot-by-4-foot window with America’s favorite pest: the cockroach. Being that the cockroach also plays the role of the spiders’ favorite snack, it was only fitting to invite the crunchy insect into the charitable festivities.
As I type, the courageous (and partly crazy) Nick Le Souef has started his twenty-one day suicide as of Monday. Whether the real-life spider whisperer makes it out alive, only time will tell. One thing is for sure, Le Souef’s experience has given a brand new meaning to the title,“ The Little Shop of Horrors!”Have YOU helped save the world today?

Xpax Shout! At The Library
You know what?
When I first received the invitation to Xpax Shout party at the Library, I seriously thought of this…. [see photo below]
Ok. I’m just acting. I don’t really read boring, old books (unless i’ve no choice) =(
Updated: But netbook, papers and pencil box are real. No acting. lol.
Well, I’ve been spending most of my time in my campus library looking for relevant data for my research study since the beginning of the semester. Objects which I see the most are books, journals and magazines. I seriously think that I can make UM library as my second home… =_=
Of course, the Library which I was being invited is obviously 10th times different. I believe, it should be one of the most happening pubs in this city. Thanks to Xpax from Celcom for offering me 2 free VIP passes so that I can bring my friend.
Me with hat
She with gorgeous hairband and her name is June =)
Seriously, I am glad to receive free passes where June and I can skip the long, i mean looooooooooooooooong queue before the entrance or might just leave and go back.
Our VIP passes
Go Back!!? Alright, you know I am just kidding.. Cos how can i leave when I know it’s going to be a happening night? I still can wait if I was lining in the queue as there are cool prizes and rock bands!
I did fill up but no one call pun. so no free prizes =/
Looking at this big ‘X’ it remains me of this tagline, “Ada X, ada Pax ada Segalaya”
See how happening this Xpax Shout party is! I have never been to anything as rock as this. I am glad that I wore something ‘rock and bold’ for this event. It fits the theme and the atmosphere. Scroll down if you don’t believe me (how dare you)
DJs who are good in bringing out the mood from the audience
The crowds
The fun =D
This is June and my favorite band
My favorite singer. She has the attitude, man! Love her.
The mood in The Library with no real books.
Besides cool prizes and rock bands, I have made new friends with new bloggers during in the event. It is great to catch up with the blogging community once in awhile. Well, I realized there are so many new bloggers lately and I am learning to remember all these new faces. Suddenly, I feel myself getting older.. *sob*
From the right: Sam, Reiko, Me, June and Simone
Finally able to snap photo with Jac =)
Daphne and botakai
Of course, June and I again.
Thank Jac and Xpax for the invites. I have great time there. Looking forward for the Xpax Shout! Awards this coming 20th November at Bukit Jalil.
